U.S. GI Killed by Roadside Bomb in Iraq

Sunday September 18, 2005 9:01 AM

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - A roadside bomb killed a U.S. soldier on patrol
in western Iraq, the U.S. military said Sunday.

The soldier, assigned to the 56th Brigade Combat Team, was taken to a
U.S. military hospital where he died of his wounds on Saturday night.
The attack occurred near Al Asad Air Base in a volatile insurgent
region near Syria.

At least 1,899 members of the U.S. military have been killed since the
beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated
Press count.

1. I wonder if we will see an article on this soldiers death
in an American newspaper? I have not heard of one since Hurricane Katrina hit the U.S. I guess no other soldiers have died in the last three weeks.

2. What a heartbreaking shame. This soldier is killed, remains....
anonymous and becomes #1,899. My sympathies go to his/her family.

6. Rest In Peace, Soldier.
You died because of a corrupt and heartless government.

Meanwhile, Osama Bin Laden lives a life of leisure in Pakistan.

8. We've got to bring the remaining troops home NOW!
We've got to stop with the notion that we are there to make Iraq into a democracy.

This is a racist view a la White man's Burden.

Iraq's economic, political and social destiny is
not the responsibility of US taxpayers.

No more deaths.

Bring Our Troops Home!
