Mrs. Bush urges patience with gulf cleanup

Associated Press

WASHINGTON - Laura Bush said Tuesday she is worried that Americans could turn away from the staggering need in the Gulf Coast before the effort to recover from Hurricane Katrina is done.

"That's going to be the hard part for everyone, and that is to sustain the amount of help that evacuees are getting to do the long, long hard work that's going to be required," Bush said in an interview with The Associated Press. "It's particularly hard for Americans, because we're so impatient and we think that everything ought to be fixed yesterday."

The first lady sat down in the White House's stately Map Room to promote this weekend's National Book Festival, a daylong event on the National Mall that she has put on in concert with the Library of Congress for five years.

...

"It's going to be really important as we rebuild these schools on the Mississippi Coast and in New Orleans to make sure their libraries are rebuilt better and stocked even better than they were before," Bush said.

11. shes worried
She's worried Americans will lose interest before repairs are completed.I can't blame her because bush has never completed or been successful at anything he has ever attempted. She transfers his lack of character to real Americans who never give up when the mission is just.

she goes home to fine linens and good food and takes a hot shower whenever she wants and then she puts on clean clothes...designer ones at that. May she rot in hell with her disgusting husband.

19. Maybe she could send the twins to help clean up.
Sure, it would be a small help, but the symbolism would be so important. Give the twins a mop and pail and send them to New Orleans. Laura can tag along, and put in a few months scrubbing herself.

20. Look, Laura, unless you are offering to share your Xanax
supply with the evacuees, you don't need to be going around lecturing them about having patience.

23. Yall aren't going to believe this, but
I talked to 2 friends from Texas this past weekend; one from San Antonio and one from Dallas (Plano). They both have repuke friends who told them that they liked the idea of Laura Bush for Pres in 2008, with her hubby as VP. Both friends reported that their friends were dead serious. The repukes said that was no different than Hillary being President, but being controlled, behind the scenes, by her husband, Bill. So, the repukes really feel (or are pretending to feel) that Hillary is only a "front" for Bill, and if she is elected, he will be the "real" president. Their ignorance never fails to amaze me.

27. The sexism in these people is breath-taking.
Laura is an idiot. Hillary is not. It has nothing to do with their husbands.

appease the masses with platitudes. You are used up and frankly your rhetoric is just as abysmal as that of your numb-skull husband.
