Europe backs Turkey declaration

The EU has formally approved a declaration on Turkish recognition of Cyprus that could have delayed talks on Turkey's EU membership.
The declaration was due to have been agreed by EU ministers on Tuesday, but Cyprus raised last-minute objections.

It calls on Turkey to normalise relations with all EU member states - including Cyprus - as soon as possible.

3. it can only be to the e.u.'s good
to allow turkey into the union.

and it will grow more positive attitudes in the muslim world that th west is serious about it's relations with them.
