8. Xinhua News Agency is a pretty reliable source
and does usually give you reports of the "other side" of things. In regards to verifications, I guess only time will tell.

peace

9. What constitutes "verified"?
An embedded reporter's censored account?

A proclamation from the Green Zone?

A statement by Rummy?

18. Not reliable?
What, like Fox? Or CNN, MSNBC, etc?

Americans are starting to appear as the most loathsome people on the planet. Isn't it time you took back your government, or will you wait for some reliable verification? Sheesh, this kind of activity happens daily in Iraq and you think it is a red herring!

12. Xinhuanet has always been dependable so far: never off the wall.
When we hear Defense's explanation, it will probably have been greatly altered, but the same people will have been killed. This isn't something we're going to hear them admit, if you think about it: just like they won't admit any of their other atrocities.

Here's an earlier story on this catastrophe:
US troops detain police chief north of Baghdad

www.chinaview.cn 2005-09-21 22:40:18

TIKRIT, Iraq, Sept. 21 (Xinhuanet) -- US troops detained an Iraqi police chief and dozens of policemen on Wednesday after insurgents attacked a US supply convoy on Tuesday, police said.

"US soldiers detained Brigadier Muhammed Khalaf al-Jubouri,police chief of Dhuluiyah town, north of Baghdad, and about 60 policemen for failing to deal with insurgents," a police source in Tikrit told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The source said US troops have sealed off the town, some 100 kmnorth of Baghdad, and detained some 400 people, including policemen, since insurgents attacked a convoy of trucks carrying military supplies for US troops on Tuesday.

Tuesday's attack damaged three trucks in the convoy guarded by US troops and killed three drivers, probably Turkish nationals, the source said. Enditem

20. This is worse than normal
British SAS killing Iraqi police, now U.S. soldiers doing the same. I think the puppets that Bush expected to cooperate are not doing so, thus the hit squads.

23. Could be lots of things, including what it says
Now I want to know who this dead guy was. Assuming the basic facts reported bear scrutiny, this could be bad, bad news.

If the "Brigadier" was pulling for the insurgents, then the operation could have been a hit, or worse, a rogue incident by disgruntled soldiers. Neither one is indicative of an occupier who has control of the territory or the populace.

On the other hand, if he was working for us, then we might be in really deep shit, because that might mean that someone has shown up in Iraq capable of pulling off false flag operations.

It will be interesting to see what sort of feel-good story DoD tries to spin out of this, if they are forced to acknowledge it at all.

NOBODY'S GONNA ASK.

Period. Or even if someone, somewhere dares to ask, they won't feel obliged to give an answer. As usual...

End of "incident."

24. Reliable?
At least verifiable names are mentioned. In stark contrast to the endless supply of nameless faceless #3 men, top Lt's, and linked to Al Quaida's as reported by the US press.

27. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? How can we
kill other people without a trial? How can we keep them in jail with no charges or trial? More importantly, why are the American allowing this to continue? It really makes me want to bolt this sick country; I am only waiting for the possibility that the Pugs have finally overstepped their bounds once too many. The 06 and the 08 elections will tell. Let's insist on those paper trails.
