Bush turns attention to war on terror

(White House-AP) September 28, 2005 - President Bush is back in Washington and expected to speak this morning on the war on terror.

...

Bush took a helicopter tour of areas the storm demolished. That included tiny Cameron, Louisiana - population 1,900 - where some 80 percent of the buildings were leveled. The chopper also circled over a nearby offshore oil rig.

Before heading home to Washington, Bush said he admires the courage of the folks he's seen. He said, "If you look in their eyes, you see people who've been through a lot."

First Putin, and now hurricane victims. What a incompetent jerk.

The chopper also circled over a nearby offshore oil rig.

Chimpy had more compassion for the oil rig then he did for the victims.

4. he had some weird comment
the other day - he was in Texas somewhere and said "There are people right now who are frustrated. And I understand that - I understand their frustration. But I think we need to trust the local people, the people who know what's going on."

WTF??? What does that mean? Who does it refer to? How does that inspire? What are you talking about? aaaaaagggghhhH!!!

The news clip that presented this gem was just saying that he was visiting the area that day, and made some comments. There was no context at all for this.

and also beautiful that that bush boy doesn't scare you either!

We, the grannies and greatgrandgrannies might/ought to stand together in front of the white house--and tell that bush boy,

BOOH!

just like Cindy Sheehan and so many others did this past weekend.

23. Yes, we should!
Sorry to post late, but I'm north of Houston, Tx., and the light company is trying to get everybody's power on, which means we are subject to "rolling blackouts." Ours lasted about 8 hours today. Yes, we grannies and greatgrannies, we've been through everything, and can stand up to anything.

The little idiot doesn't scare me, he disgusts me. We WILL take this country back, for the sake of the children we all love..

12. Just one of many "grab bag" topics they are trying spin until they find
one that will help Republicans and help pull Bush's numbers up in the polls. Sadly, they don't realize that this administration has lost credibility on every issue there is of any substance. What they need to do is try to CHANGE their policies and practices for REAL and stop the spinning and smearing and lying.

20. I listen for once and thought what the hell was this about?
Except for showing * leadership photo op, with his generals, VP and Rummy.
He said really nothing (as usually) but there was no change of policy, good news or any other hype said. I think they did this to take some news heap off of Delay and other bad news.

It was odd no questions were asked or anything new was said.

"The support of Congress for our troops and our mission is important and Americans need to know about the gains we have made in recent weeks and months, they need to know the way we're adapting our tactics, and the way we're changing our strategies to meet the needs on the ground," Bush said.

22. So we need to know
...the gains we have made in recent weeks and months... but he didn't mention any specific gains.

...the way we're adapting our tactics... but he didn't mention how we are adapting our tactics.

...the way we're changing our strategies to meet the needs on the ground... but he didn't mention how we are changing our strategies.

Enlightening speech, wasn't it? Glad I missed it.
