'NY Times' To Run Full Account of Miller Case This Week

Earlier, when Miller returned to the newsroom--a video can be found at the Times' Web site--she told colleagues, "I'm sure I did many things that were not completely perfect in the eyes of either First Amendment absolutists or those who wrote every day saying 'Testify, testify, you're covering up for these people.'"

She also said she'd lost 20 pounds in jail and that 100,000 email messages clogged her office computer.

"I am very, very proud to be able to say that I got things that no other journalist has ever gotten out of a process like this," Miller told the newsroom. Among them: she was allowed to "redact" the notes on her talks with Libby that she had to turn over to the prosecutor.

According to the Times article, "Ms. Miller said her lawyers reopened negotiations not because she wanted to leave jail, although she did, but because if Mr. Fitzgerald extended the grand jury, everyone would dig deeper into their positions and she would have a more difficult time getting what she considered a voluntary waiver from Mr. Libby."

I'd love to see the redacted parts.

5. I can't believe after all she has done, she still works at the NYT
She violated several federal felony statutes, every canon of journalistic ethics, badly damaged the reputation of her employer, and betrayed her country by knowingly acting as an integral part of a scheme to deceive Congress and plunge the US into an illegal war.

And, yet, Miller is still on the payroll. If I were Fitzgerald, I'd go after her editors and the Times publisher as co-conspirators.

10. That's because the NYT is on the payroll.
If fear and politics were not guiding the decision-making of editors nation-wide, then newspapers would not be laundering the agendas of the rich and powerful. This country would not be at war right now if the media was not in bed with the Right Wing. Miller's just a good employee. She does not serve the truth, just her politics packaged as news.

6. The "full account"? Will they include Miller's being in bed with WMD
search teams in Iraq?

7. A "full account" would include her false Iraq WMD reports
and how the resulting fallout led her to believe that the only way to salvage her reputation was to play Freedom of the Press Martyr in Plamegate.

Ditto for Sulzberger.

8. If she brings that up at all, she will have to claim that she was duped
...and believed the phonied-up "evidence." Which would make her...let's see, what's a good phrase...dumb as a doorknob????

9. Define "full account"... does this mean that they are going to...
reveal that she was shilling for moron* and his room full of dopes and she only went to jail to protect her own hide from having to testify? Will that full account be reported? Hmmm, somehow, I don't think so.

fucking asshole twits.

12. After seven weeks "in the hole"
I'm sure she's got enough material to write a book about her "walk on the wild side." Of course, why you'd believe ANYTHING she had to say at this point is beyond me!

13. Disgusting. I hope their new venture on the Internet fails and
brings them down.

The fruit needs to die and rot to make new for new growth.

Paper of record -- yeah. Sure. A falsified record, at best.
