President Bush's job approval rating has remained in the low 40s despite a more favorable public rating of his handling of Hurricane Rita than Hurricane Katrina, the storm that demolished his approval rating nearly a month ago.

His job performance rating is now below 50% among stalwart supporters like Red State Voters (49%), and voters who are married (48%), men (46%), in armed forces households (48%), NASCAR fans (48%). Conservatives give him a 74% positive ratings.

Zogby gives the margin of error as 3.2% and I'd love to see the weighting. He is just flopping around like a fish on riverbank.

ask the residents in Texas. They handeled Rita just like Katrina except he came down here more often. It was our Houston Mayor Bill White (D) that has been doing the good job taking care of Katrina refugees AND the Texas towns (their mayors call Bill for help). But that doesn't get in the MSM.
