Looks like the cronyism and corruption of the Bush administration is raising some serious doubts about Katrina funding.

3. Just watch, folks...

the Republicans will turn this poll into a mandate to spend fewer dollars on the rebuilding.

Can't you just hear it now? "Polls show that Americans are worried about all of this money. They want it spent wisely and they doubt that the government can do it".

They'll probably insist that giving the money directly to companies (enter Halliburton, stage left), will eliminate the waste of funneling the money through local governments, other organizations, etc.

Somehow they will spin this as a referendum for their looting and thuggery--and a testament to the fact that Americans hate liberals.

I can hear the spin now. $10 says that Limbaugh works on this talking point for at least a solid half hour today.
