3rd Suspect Nabbed in Subway Terror Plot
By MICHAEL WEISSENSTEIN, Associated Press Writer 41 minutes ago

NEW YORK - The investigation into an alleged plot to bomb the city's subway moved forward on several fronts Friday as a third suspect was arrested in Iraq and authorities looked into whether a fourth person had traveled to New York as part of the scheme, officials said.

A law enforcement official familiar with the case said the man's trip to New York was described by an informant who had spent time in
Afghanistan and proved reliable in past investigations.

"He's been a source of multiple correct information in the past," the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the continuing investigation. "Does that mean a fourth person he identified is in fact in New York? We don't know that."

The official added that authorities had not confirmed whether the fourth man even exists.

Alarmed by the informant's report of a plot to attack city subways with as many as 19 bombs in bags and possibly baby strollers, U.S. forces in Iraq arrested two suspected plotters who had been under close surveillance until Thursday morning, officials said. The third escaped until his arrest Friday.

7. Info from CIA/FBI interrogations of insurgent pharmacists in Iraq.
Edited on Fri Oct-07-05 03:29 PM by Garbo 2004
Feds say, hey we turned the info over to NYC but we have nothing to do with the alert. They're passing off the terra ball to the local jurisdictions so they can do their own alerts. So it won't seem politically motivated dontcha know if DHS did it.

Funny, Bushies kept saying Iraqis were a threat to US and years later the CIA/FBI develops information that indeed they are? See Bush was right. That's the story line.

14. Ya see, responses to terror attacks are a local responsibility...
...not a federal one, and certainly NOT FEMA.

4. Boy, the Bushies must be expecting indictments really soon.
These arrests are happening just at the right time. I wonder how long the suspects have been under close surveillance. I hate to be so cynical, but I do not trust the Bushies at all. They cynically manipulate the news and even events to cover up their malfeasance. I hope I'm wrong, but it looks like that is what they are doing here. Distract, distract, distract.

5. I don't even believe this stuff anymore
They make it up, some "spokesman" or "unidentified source" feeds it to the media and there it is. More fabricated proof that this administration is keeping America safe.

6. Arrested in Iraq = manufactured by US
or a total hoax.

I'll believe it when I see the suspects arrested here on US soil.

9. Wait. Is this for the "unsubstaniated" threat from
yesterday?

How do you arrest 3 people at the same time you say there was no evidence the alert was real?

I am confused.

Maybe... He said he would like to go to NY and started walking away.

Or, what?

Their threshold and timing standards are probably very low now.

!!!! all sorts of bizarre stuff

New York City -- October 6, 2005 -- TomFlocco.com -- Earlier this evening intelligence members of the American-French Alliance stopped an attempt by Israeli Mossad operatives to blow up the New York City subway, according to national security and U.S. intelligence expert Thomas Heneghen.

The federal whistleblower said four Israelis were killed in the altercation and five more were captured just minutes after virtually all U.S. cable news channels, network TV outlets and New York Mayor Richard Bloomberg were reporting their own version of the incident, saying that New York City was "facing a significant, specific threat" in the city's subway.

Heneghen said CNN had the information but host Anderson Cooper did not report the real story to the American people.

22. This sounds like disinformation
Who is this expert Thomas Heneghen? Is he the same "federal whistle blower" who was said to be the source for the rumors about everybody in Bush administration being indicted by Fitzgerald back in August?

19. This sounds like a plot to further the "fighting them over there so
we don't have to fight them here" talking point.

After all, they arrested them in Iraq. Isn't that one of the countries we're waging the "war on terror" on?

This is nothing but a set-up to prove that point.

And you're right, I don't believe any of this either. I don't trust anything they do or say any more because it's all fabricated as a means to another evil end!

23. suuuuuuuure
this stuff is so bogus its not even funny. first, all sorts of rumours arise about the fitzgerald proceedings, then bush lays a big hate-filled egg of a speech, then lo and behold, a TERROR scare magically arises. then, facing accusations that they are again crying wolf to take attention away from this news, bush HIMESELF takes the time to BLAME new york city for the terra scare. then this ? its pathetic. i wonder which poor saps in iraq are being made the patsies for this stuff. and will they play more terra games this weekend ?
