(Australian) Troops may return soon: PM
THE Prime Minister is optimistic that Australia's job in Iraq is nearly done and the troops can come home soon. Asked by Labor to detail his exit strategy for troops from Iraq, John Howard told Parliament he would withdraw troops from Iraq once the job was complete. He added he was aware of comments made by General George Casey, the commander of multinational forces in Iraq, that Iraqi security forces were improving significantly. "I'm also aware of separate assessments made that indicate that the security forces in Iraq which operate in the areas where Australians are deployed, that those particular forces are improving in capability and that gives us grounds for some optimism," he said...

1. May 06 pull-out for Australian troops according to Japanese press
Australia has already informed Japan of its plan to withdraw its troops from Iraq in May. Britain also is considering a gradual pullout in 2006 or later of its troops from areas in Iraq that are fairly secure.

He knows Iraq is going down the toilet and he wants our troops out of there because if they get caught in the civil war he will pay for it.
