Nixon son-in-law pulls out of US Senate race against Hillary Clinton
Edited on Fri Oct-14-05 04:05 PM by deadparrot
NEW YORK (AFP) - Ed Cox, son-in-law of former US president Richard Nixon, withdrew from the race for the Republican nomination to challenge former first lady Hillary Clinton for her New York seat in the US Senate.

Cox, a 58-year-old Republican lawyer married to Nixon's daughter Tricia, pulled out of the nomination race after New York's Republican governor, George Pataki, backed another candidate.

"The Governor is the leader of the Republican Party," Cox said in a statement. "Out of respect for his position and his decision, I have decided to stop my campaign for the United State Senate."

Clinton, 57, who was elected by a comfortable margin in 2000, is standing for re-election in 2006, amid widespread speculation that she could seek the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008

4. Land-slide, LAND-SLIDE
Hillary will win over 60% of the vote and she will finish the campaign with a big war chest too.

And that extra money ain't gonna be used for a Carribean vacation, if you know what I mean.

21. Pirro cannot read from her own damn notes!
Her announcement speech was the funniest fucking thing I have ever seen. All Hill has to do is run fifteen seconds ads of that nitwit stumbling, and flipping through her notes. No comment desired or required!

Just what NY needs, seeing as they are the bullseye in the TERRA dartboard!!!!

10. Put a fork in ALL of them
Pirro, Cox, whoever. Hillary is going to WIN. They can send all their money from around the country, as they did with Lazio, won't make a damned bit of difference.

12. I hope this is half as much fun
as our Illinois Senate race last year. It was a riot to watch anyone who approached Barack Obama self-destruct.

help Jeanine Pirro. They are doing to her what the Republican establishment did to Bush in 2000. Rest assure, as a Westchester County resident, I can tell you that Pirro will be destroyed by next year. She and her husband are so horribly corrupt (her limo driver is one of the highest paid officials in Westchester County, more than the President of Westchester Community College!) And as for her husband's tax troubles on personaly gifts, many of those "business gifts" were Jeanine's! She had to have known what was going on.

19. I hope Castro does well
I hear he's in a close race with Janet DiFiore (a Pirro clone who has been accused of intimidating the Right to Life candidate to step off of the ballot and drop out.) Also, do you have any word on the County Executive Race? How is Spano doing and what are his chances for re-election?

20. She won by a comfortable margin the last time because she
really has no competition. I wish her well and hope she wins then decides not to run in 2008.
