Venezuelan official: CIA killed judge
Venezuela's top prosecutor has accused the US Central Intelligence Agency of planning the assassination last year of a judge investigating sensitive political cases.

"The CIA is involved, it advised extensively, with all of its experience, on how to carry out this terrorist act," the killing of Danilo Anderson in a car bombing on 18 November 2004, chief prosecutor Isaias Rodriguez said on Friday.

Rodriguez said the crime had been carried out by an international crime ring that was tasked with assassinating Rodriguez himself, as well as President Hugo Chavez, an elected leftist and outspoken critic of US President George Bush.

And Rodriguez alleged that CIA agents took part in meetings in Miami, Panama and Maracaibo, Venezuela, where, he said, the Anderson assassination plot was hatched.

4. "goat roper"
Supposedly a cowboy wannabe who doesn't know one end of a horse from the other, if my definition fits your Marine pals' definition. I suppose bush would recognize a horse's a** though, considering that one stares back at him every time he looks in the mirror.

There is of course another definition about association with goats, but please, let's not insult the goats vis-a-vis bush :P

Venezuela Attorney General Accuses CIA of Judge´s Murder

Caracas, Oct 14 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan Attorney General Isaias Rodriguez accused the US Central Intelligence Agency Friday of involvement in the murder of Venezuelan Judge Danilo Anderson who was investigating the April 2002 coup against President Hugo Chavez.

Rodriguez asserted that members of the CIA attended meetings in Panama and Miami during which the assassination of Danilo Anderson was planned, and announced that the names of the murderers, who will be brought to trial, would be publicly known on November 4.

He explained that the secrecy is necessary because those who masterminded Anderson´s death has a contract on them and, in the last four months, the Venezuelan government has transferred them several times to preserve their lives and physical integrity.

Anderson died November 18, 2004 when his vehicle exploded in the middle of an investigation on the participants in the April 2002 coup against the Chavez government.

U.S. To Block Sale of Spanish Transport Aircraft to Venezuela
By AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE, MADRID

The United States has told Spain it plans to veto the sale of a dozen Spanish-built transport aircraft to Venezuela, with which Washington is on bad terms, the Madrid daily ABC reported Oct. 15.

The twin-engined CASA C-295 has radar and other equipment of U.S. origin, giving the United States power to ban the sale of the planes unless the parts are replaced.

ABC, quoting sources at the Ibero-American summit in Salamanca, attended both by Spain’s Prime Minister Jose Rodriguez Zapatero and Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez, said eight patrol boats were also part of the contract.

Chavez, an elected leftist leader, is highly critical of Washington’s policies in Latin America and the Middle East, and has accused the United States of plotting to kill him.
