President's Approval Ratings Slip In Illinois
AP) CHICAGO <snip>

The Chicago Tribune/WGN TV poll finds that approval of the president's overall job performance has slipped to 33 percent. A similar poll five months ago showed Bush with a 41 percent job approval rating.

The telephone survey of 700 registered voters was conducted this month (Oct. 5-9) and has an error margin of four percentage points.

It found that 42 percent of downstate voters approve of the job Bush is doing, down from 47 percent in May.

His approval rating in Chicago's collar counties, which are traditional Republican strongholds, slid to 37 percent from 46 percent in May.

SurveyUSA had him at 38/61 in early September: http://www.surveyusa.com/50State2005/50StatePOTUS0905SortedbyState.htm

Nothing is certain. Nothing is guaranteed with them in office.

4. He's down to the "ham sandwich" voters now.
Edited on Sat Oct-15-05 03:06 PM by davsand
A "ham sandwich" voter is one that would vote for a ham sandwich if it had n R after the name. Those are the same guys that supported Keyes in this last election...

Illinois GOP is in a hell of a mess anyhow--the ultra conservatives are waging a civil war in the party against the moderates. Looks like maybe the asswipe in the WhiteHouse is adding to the division. Let's hope that gets carried over into this next gubernatorial race. It might be the ONLY way Blag can hang onto the Governor's mansion.

Have you heard of Denny Hassert? I actually have to drive down Dennis Hassert Blvd to go to work, :puke: No, we are still surrounded by rich ignorant repubs. I canceled the Trib the day they endorsed the idiot scrub so I was shocked when they called me. I'm proud to have been part of their poll!

6. In Colorado Too - boo hoo
Poll: War support dips

Survey also finds Bush's approval rate down in Colo.

By Gwen Florio, B) 2005, Rocky Mountain News
October 15, 2005

Support for the war in Iraq is waning in Colorado, a poll indicates, with just more than a third of those questioned saying that they strongly believe it was right for the U.S. to go to war.

Also, more than half disapproved of the job that President Bush is doing, a finding that mirrors those of national polls.

The poll, conducted this week for the Rocky Mountain News and CBS 4, found that 36 percent of the 500 likely voters questioned totally supported the war, compared with 55 percent in December 2003.

The poll, conducted Monday through Wednesday by Public Opinion Strategies, had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.38 percentage points.

"At the beginning, I said it (the war) was a good idea. Now I think they're putting too much focus on it. There's other things that need to be done - like job creation," said Martha Reyes, 23, of Edgewater.

Reyes was among the 11 percent of those surveyed who said they had changed their minds on supporting the war, up from 4 percent in December 2003. http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/election/article/0,1299,DRMN_36_4160435,00.html

7. Most be the same low numbers in AZ....
I haven't seen the poll numbers in AZ against little bush but it seems that no republican wants to run against our great governor Janet Napolitano (D).

16. That's really good news, readmylips. Napolitano really does seem great!
I'm glad that she's not going to have to be pulled into a mess during the next election.

10. He's no president
I love it when I read that georgie's numbers keep falling. Has America finally realised what a failure he is and how much harm he's done? He's no president. He can't run an oil company or a baseball team and he's damn sure not any good as pres.
