Countdown to Mehlis report: T - 6 and counting
Saturday, 15 October, 2005 @ 3:46 PM

Beirut, Lebanon - UN chief investigator Detlev Mehlis left this morning at 4 am Beirut time heading to Vienna where he will finalize his report on the assassination of the late PM Rafik Hariri. He will present the report to the Lebanese authorities on Friday, October 21.

The building anticipation of what the report will reveal is much like a rocket launch. Ya Libnan will be providing full coverage of the events that unfold in the coming days, starting with the following report to kick off the countdown with 6 days to go.

Prior to his departure, Mehlis met with the Lebanese Judges Said Mirza and Elias Eid. The meeting covered the actions required after the report is issued.

According to informed source, precautions have been taken to prevent any leaks about the report during its translation to the UN languages: Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Chinese and Russian.

4. i am DISGUSTED with how
the administration is using this as an excuse to EXTORT syria. i don't see 'me paying the slightest attention to other reports, like that one which found they were 'starving' the people of iraq. this is political theatre, one they are PRETENDING to care about since it so easily matches their evil political goals.
