Baathists Threaten US Military Bases As Saddam Trial Opens

Militants from Iraq's dismantled former ruling Baath party have threatened to launch missile attacks on United States military bases in Iraq and have called on loyalists to defend the country's former dictator, Saddam Hussein on the eve of his trial.

"At the moment that his trial is about to begin, we will salute the president by launching a hail of missile attacks on American military bases," read a message posted to Islamist websites.
