Rumsfeld's visit paves way for Bush's impending China tour
Visiting US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has said he hopes exchange and cooperation between the Chinese and US armies would be consolidated.

"China and the US share a complex relationship and despite notable differences, we still have a great deal in common," Rumsfeld said when addressing a seminar in the China PLA Military Science Academy Thursday morning in Beijing.

He told the Chinese military think-tank that the United States welcomes the emergence of a responsible, peaceful and prosperous China, stressing that the two armies both have to find ways to eliminate sense of mystery about each other and increase mutual understanding.

"We should upgrade out military ties compatible to the national relationship," Rumsfeld told Cao Gangchuan, his Chinese counterpart during their talks Wednesday.

5. STOP THAT THIEF! Am I reading between the lines correctly?
Edited on Thu Oct-20-05 09:22 AM by higher class
Months ago George made a statement about Africans becoming 'world police'. Does it sound like that was a reality diversion for their true agenda for making U.S.-Chinese soldiers world police or world peacekeeping police.

It doesn't pay to ignore what these people say. Why would we think that this is a mere statement out of the air.

China would have more money to donate to the effort.

They plant. They prep. They cause dis-reality. They march forward on the hope that they will still be in charge of the world. Who is behind them that feeds them the confidence and arrogance to say and do what they do? STOP THESE THIEVES and KILLERS!

Do you think that it is possible that he is trying to erase one of our debts to China by offering up our young kids? What went on years ago when Armand Hammer types went in and made friends with the communist countries of China and the USSR? Was it just for trade as they have told us all these years. Remember, it has been OK to trade with communists while villifying communists and creating hate for communists AND BORROWING FROM THEM. (Except Cuba.)

Don't underestimate these people.

What is the PNAC story behind this?

7. If only we had a real Secretary of State....
...we wouldn't have to have Rumsfeld filling in on diplomatic missions...

Anybody know if there's an extradition treaty with China?

8. In light of the Fin. Times article this morning..
I'm not feeling too great about Rummy doing anything involving national security.

I just cannot fathom WHY we are coddling a communist country like China. I mean.. they are still communists, right? Did I miss something? Did they tear down the Great Wall in the 80's? Why are we kissing ass and borrowing money and allowing our corporations to make gazillions by shifting their mfg over there, if they are communists? I thought that was why we isolate and punish Cuba?

Am I totally lost on this stuff? Did I miss something?

10. Dubya admires their dictatorship.
He wishes he could run over protestors with tanks, too.

The Bushies have $$ invested in China. It's still all about wealth and power, not politics---except as a means.

12. Little bush out of the country...China please keep him....
Little bush leaving just when Karl Rove needs him, unless he's taking his rotten brain with him and asking China to keep him. I can't believe it, little bush will be out of the country when Fitz hands his a$$ to him and his criminal administration. Hope the Chinese get a good laugh.
