White House Backs Ban on Some Abortions

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The Bush administration urged a federal appeals court Thursday to overturn a judge's decision nullifying a congressional ban on a type of late-term abortion.

The case before the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is one of three in which federal judges have ruled that the ban is unconstitutional. Last month the Bush administration asked the U.S. Supreme Court to hear another of the cases.

The 2003 Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act - which never went into force - bans a procedure carried out in the second trimester in which the living fetus is partly removed from the womb, and its skull is punctured or crushed. The law allows a doctor to cut up a fetus before it is removed from the woman.

They can still do other procedures inside the woman, which is why it puts HER life in danger.

Somebody should tell these people that these are NOT 7 or 8 month gestations (starts at 21 weeks) and at any rate, won't END THEM AT ALL - just that one safer procedure for the woman.

3. I think they should ban some abortions...

the ones the day before birth, though they'd have to either go back in time (impossible as of yet) or women would stuff the baby back and then abort it. They could put a stop to all those women restuffing babies in order to abort them. I mean, really.
