Sen. Jim Talent applauds the remarks of Vice President Dick Cheney.
(ROBERT COHEN/P-D)

Vice President Dick Cheney used his appearance in St. Louis County on Friday to make the administration's case for staying the course at home and abroad, including Iraq.
(snip)

"We could not ask for a better partner than Jim Talent," the vice president said, setting off applause among about 300 Republican supporters gathered at the Frontenac Hilton.

The aim of the $1,000-a-person event was to raise more money for Talent's contest next year against the likely Democratic nominee, state Auditor Claire McCaskill. His latest campaign report showed him with more than $4 million in the bank, compared to less than $700,000 for McCaskill.

Friday night's gathering was expected to bring in close to $450,000, with around two-thirds going to Talent's campaign. The rest will go to the national Republican effort to help other Senate candidates elsewhere in the country.

3. "Stay the course at home and abroad"......
sure, if you want the country to fall into another great depression, get our asses kicked by people throwing rocks in countries we've invaded, be the laughing stock of the world, continue to throw money at Helliburton by the train load, by all means, "stay the course". :eyes: Republicans that can still, with good conscience, continue to donate money to these cretins are out of their fucking minds.

5. I'm hoping we can remove the geek-looking Talent
He won by a very slim margin against Senator Jean Carnahan, I think it was just 1%. Funny how ALL these very close races seem to go Repuke.

The only Repuke who's more geek-looking than Jim Talent, is probably Ohio's Mike DeWine.

6. "the Frontenac Hilton"
Just a little tidbit from a local. Frontenac is a very high income area, complete with Saks and Neiman Marcus.

Tells you all you need to know.

7. Now, scroll up and look at Dick's face.

That smile of his is looking awfully frozen to me. I think Dick knows his time is getting short.....the sands of the hourglass are running low...

If you cover up the right half of his face, the right half looks like he's crying.

8. Mrs. Blues got hung up in the motorcade highway shutdown
trying to get home from work last night.

Boy was she pissed when she learned that it was Crashcart that made her late.
