Democrat Urges Gov't to Stop Price Gouging (radio address)
WASHINGTON -- Calling upon lessons learned from Hurricane Katrina, Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor of Arkansas said Saturday the federal government can do a better job of caring for its citizens.

Consumers need protection from price gouging in times of gasoline shortages and supply delays and low-income families need help paying home-heating fuel bills, projected to rise by as much as 50 percent this winter, Pryor said in the weekly Democratic radio address.

High energy costs also are hurting small and large businesses alike, he said.
...
"We simply must do a better job of putting the needs of all Americans over the wants of a privileged few," the senator said.

He also stressed the importance of energy independence and said the country should waste no time in developing alternative fuels

How can anyone possibly object to a few elite Republicans reaping massive windfall profits at the expense of working men and women? Are these Dems some kind of frikking Commies?

3. THIS is the message that means something ....
THIS lies at the core of who we are and what we seek in government and society ....

THIS is EXACTLY what differentiates (at least it used to) Democrats and the GOP ....

THIS is the message that should have been promoted LONG AGO, inceasingly ....

WTF took our party leaders so long to annunciate this ? ...

WHERE is Liebermann on this ? ... Hillary ? ... Dodd ?? ... Biden ? ...

Just WHO the FUCK is standing up for hard pressed american families today ? ...

The Democrats have lost their way, enamored with corporate monies and scared out of their wits that Republicans might 'yell' at them ...

9. I believe it's important to stress
the fact that Republicans always put corporate interests, and the interest of the wealthy, ahead of everything else. I want Americans to see where Republican loyalty lies...and it's not with the ordinary citizens of this country. We are pampering the rich, to the detriment of the rest of us.

I like this sentence from the article.
We simply must do a better job of putting the needs of all Americans over the wants of a privileged few," the senator said.
