Iraqi Sentenced for Attempting to Buy Grenade, Guns
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — An Iraqi-born man was sentenced Monday to nearly five years in prison after trying to buy machine guns and hand grenades in a federal sting operation.

Ahmed Hassan Al-Uqaily, 34, was arrested last October during the investigation prompted by his alleged threat about "going jihad" against the United States, investigators said.

The FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force said Al-Uqaily paid $1,000 for two disassembled machine guns, four disassembled hand grenades and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

5. You can buy parts, but not a receiver
There is no way to legally buy ALL of the parts needed to assemble a machinegun without going through the federal paperwork, background check, etc.

8. The MasterSlack knows....
there are any number of ways to get receiver blanks. Drill a few holes, file some stuff off, bingo, death at bullets per minute.
It's just too easy to get dangerous weapons here.

9. Most people lack the skill and tools to do that job
Making a firearm receiver requires precision machine work.

10. It's not like folding an origami crane

A firearm receiver has to be machined to close tolerances, otherwise it will fail to function or it will self-destruct when you try to fire the resulting weapon.

BTW let's see a link to substantiate your claim of $10 machinegun receiver blanks.

11. Parts designed solely for machineguns are controlled, see
