W Pals Bushwhack CIA Leak Prosecutor
Edited on Mon Oct-24-05 03:31 PM by Mark E. Smith
NY Daily News 10/24

WASHINGTON - As the White House and Republicans brace for possible indictments in the CIA leak probe, defenders have launched a not-so-subtle campaign against the prosecutor handling the case.

"He's a vile, detestable, moralistic person with no heart and no conscience who believes he's been tapped by God to do very important things," one White House ally said, referring to special counsel Patrick Fitzgerald.

President Bush recently praised Fitzgerald on NBC's "Today" show, saying: "The special prosecute is conducting a very serious investigation. He's doing it in a very dignified way, by the way, and we'll see what he says."

But now friends of the White House have started whispering that the Brooklyn-raised prosecutor is overzealous after it became clear that Bush political mastermind Karl Rove and Vice President Cheney's chief of staff Lewis (Scooter) Libby, are in Fitzgerald's crosshairs.

Good thing that the article points out that the target of the "vile, detestable, moralistic person with no heart" comment was Fitzgerald. I would have automatically figured the reference was to Bush or somebody close to him.

What amazes me additionally is that this kind of propaganda actually works! Seriously, they wouldn't spend time or money on it if it didn't have some desirable (to them) effect.

16. I know that justice isn't really blind but spin vs. the law is funny
When you throw their spin up against the supposedly blank white wall that justice represents it looks more absurd than it normally does.

For those of us who see it everyday (and are at least a bit anesthetised to it) this is stark but imagine if people who usually don't pay any attention see it.

*WHAM*

If they keep this up (all this is ASSuming that there will be indictments) during the trial it should add to the fun of watching.

I thought for sure that this article was satire.
Even Bush's quote sounded overly idiotic and cliched.

But.... I had to click the link to prove it to myself. And Whoa !

I would have expected this tactic months ago.

And to all lurking freepers, I have this to say.

*yawn*

This kind of stupid crap has lost it's effectiveness at this point because it's been totally overdone for the last 5 years and is also irrelevant when it comes to the law. You and Limpballs can spin it until you've dug a spiral hole to China but it won't keep KKKarl, Delay, Libby, Cheney or whoever else out of jail. Good luck with that this time.

... "moral" would be a description of someone with morals. "Moralistic" is a description of someone always chiding others for their lack of them. Fits Bush pretty well, actually. Even more a case of projection.

........and in the end, it won't have an effect on Fitzgerald's decision. He is still going to be determined to follow the letter of the law.

I heard someone talk about him last week, I think it was on Hardball, but anyway this person said that Fitzgerald understands that many people may not like his decisions. For a prosecuter, it's typical that many people may not like him due to his actions and decisions. But that has never stopped him from making some difficult decisions regarding other powerful politicians and also terrorists.

This little gimmick was one of their blatantly transparent jobs. Creating dis-reality. Except their dis-realtiy isn't working so well anymore unless you are one of their followers and swallowers.
