DeLay acknowledges failure to report money
WASHINGTON - Rep. Tom DeLay failed to comply with House requirements that he disclose all contributions to a defense fund that pays his legal bills, the Texas Republican acknowledged to House officials.

He wrote officials that $20,850 contributed in 2000 and 2001 was not reported anywhere. Another $17,300 was included in the defense fund's quarterly report but not in DeLay's 2000 annual financial disclosure report - a separate requirement. Other donations were understated as totaling $2,800, when the figure should have been $4,450.

It was during that period that DeLay was the subject of several House ethics investigations.

him try it sometime!! On the Atlantic Ocean-- preferably where
there are plenty of famished sharks patrolling...

2. Yeah, that's the time to get sloppy with the paperwork . . .
when you're already under investigation for ethics violations. He's either very stupid or incredibly arrogant, and I suspect it's all that and more so.

Guess bad timing is a common thread among the repukes....they are all stuck on stupid.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/story/359006p-305893c.html

President Bush's damage-control handlers are plotting a sophisticated war room offensive to fight back against possible indictments in the CIA leak probe.

Behind the scenes, however, Team Bush was finalizing its campaign to discredit and undermine special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald's conclusions, sources told the Daily News.

An emerging theme in the Bush war room is arguing that his top political aide, Karl Rove, simply got tripped up on his recollections of whom he talked to and what he told them when questioned about the outing of CIA spy Valerie Plame. He shouldn't be indicted simply because of contradictory grand jury testimony, a source said.

A senior Senate Democratic aide said, "When it's about perjury and obstruction and it deals with sex, Republicans think it's worthy of impeachment. When it's about perjury and obstruction dealing with national security, they don't take it seriously."

Do you think he's just confessing a little tid-bit to take off some of the heat? Then he can come back and say, "I confessed to what I did wrong, see? I've got nothing to hide!"

I'm not buying it.

17. Did anyone see
a television ad on CNN regarding Delay and Prosecutor Ronnie Earle? I live in Ohio and yesterday around noon EST there was a commercial bashing the prosecutor - you know the evil man trying to take down the pious Delay because he was "liberal" and he had a "liberal" agenda. The commercial then went on to say that you should call a 1-800 number and tell them that "being Conservative is not a crime." I swear - that last part is word-for-word. I was so dumbfounded when listening to this commercial that I thought it was a joke. I couldn't get a piece of paper to take down the number. I just wondered if anyone else out there heard this idiotic commercial. I thought if you did and anyone had the 1-800 number we could all call it and give them our "support"!

21. There is absolutely no excuse for this...
I have been the Treasurer for dozens of candidates at all levels, local, state and federal... There are simple, but tedious, reporting deadlines and guidelines to follow...

There is no excuse, especially after two or three years have gone by...

At the very least fines should be levied...

25. Mug shot
When I first saw that Delay mug shot the other day, I thought: Used car saleman! It prompted me to write this little script.

"Hi folks! Are you lookin' for some good, cheap transportation? Well SURE you are! That's why yer here, at Trusty Tom's Texass Transports.
Now jus' lookit this little number here. This baby'll take you there an' back,
if'n it ain't to Iraq!
Heh-heh, just a lil' joke, ya see. ;-)

Now don' pay no attention to that sticker on the win'shield. That ridiculous price don' mean nothin' when your a-dealin' with ol' Tommy! Heh-heh. There's not another place like Tom's fer findin' creative ways to finance your dreams. Nossir! Tommy'll get you into whatevah he feels you kin afford and you'll only feel like you've been Shanghi'd. Heh-heh....

Yessiree, this lil' number here'll take you just as far as your gas allowance will get you, which is why we here at Tom's proudly offer a warranty of 10 days or 10 miles - whichevah comes first, donchayknow.
Why - once you get goin' in this baby, you'll be at your destination afore ya know it an' you won't even have a clue as to how you got there. I have that same sorta experience muhself all the time.
This baby smokes jus' a bit when ya first start it, but that won' hurt ya none. It's actualy designed to do that to keep yer garage free of little critters!

I see you have a coupla little ones. That's certainly a blessin', eh? An what's even better is that yer pal Tommy kin put those little darlin's on the sales con tract to where we can finance this thing for 40 years or so!
Tha's why ol' Tom believes that if'n y'll just practice them right-to-life ideals, y'all'll have more young-uns to pay for your stuff in the coming decades.

Say - the more I talk to you folks, the more I'm a-likin' y'all. Tell what ol' Tommy's willin' to do fer ya. This baby was built to where you could order an optional driveshaft if you was willin' ta pay tha extra money. If'n y'all'll come on over to the office, Right now, I'll sign ya's up - all four of ya's - and I'll give ya the shaft too! Now how's that fer bein' yer pal, eh?
Heck I've got connections in this town! I'll even have my pal, Dick, at the Halliburton garage, install that shaft fer ya! You might could shop aroun' a bit and find a cheaper deal, but trust me - Tommy's not gonna steer ya wrong here. The Halliburton Garage boys'll have that shaft in fer ya's in no time flat. You won't feel a thing.
OH! an' since you two's middle class'ns, yer eligibull fer ol' Tommy's middle class dis count. Dis count on payin' fer dealin' with ol' Tom fer the rest of yer natural life!

Here now. Jus' put yer signatures Right where them little X's is and then you can sign yer young-un's names below that.
Wha's that? Ya wanna buy some gasalline fer it too? Well now - this mus' be ya'lls lucky day. Just push that baby roun' the corner to W's oil outlet. I'll call ol' W hisself and tell him to give you a deal onna full tank o' the stuff. You DO have about a hunnert bucks with ya, Right?"
