Looks like G. W. Fraud and his cronies can't rig voting machines to fix baseball games. LOL.

25. Here's the story
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=251026118

White Sox end 88-year drought, sweep Astros to win World Series

HOUSTON -- The Chicago White Sox are World Series champions again at last, and yet another epic streak of futility is not just wiped away but swept away.

After seven scoreless innings, Jermaine Dye singled home the only run in the eighth, and the White Sox beat the Houston Astros 1-0 Wednesday night to win their first title in 88 years.

Just a year ago, the same story line captivated baseball when the long-suffering Boston Red Sox swept St. Louis to capture their first title in 86 years.

Who's next, the Chicago Cubs, without a championship since 1908?

"It's unbelievable, unbelievable," catcher A.J. Pierzynski said.

It was the third title for the White Sox, following wins in 1906 and 1917. And it was the first since "Shoeless" Joe Jackson and the "Black Sox" threw the 1919 Series against Cincinnati.

I was born in Chicago and remember when they and the Cubs dwelt in the celler. It's interesting that last year the Red Sox broke their curse and this year the White Sox redeemed the team's name from that infamouse debacle in 1919.

Congrats White Sox and White Sox fans!!!!

Cardinals (red state) v. Red Sox (blue state)...Bush threw the first pitch of the season for the Cardinals. Red sox won with a sweep despite decades of a curse.

Astro (red state) v. White Sox (blue state)...Bush once owned the Asstros. White Sox won with a sweep despite decades of a curse.

CONTRARIAN COMMENTARY BY ANDY MARTIN

AMERICA’S DAILY BRIEFING FOR OCTOBER 27, 2005

DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS? LOVE THOSE WHITE SOX

EVEN BASEBALL TURNS AGAINST BUSH

(CHICAGO)(October 27, 2005) Chicago is in a state of pandemonium this morning. Whistles, sirens, horns, screaming, it’s wild. The mighty Chicago White Sox have won the World Series after an 88-year drought (the year my mother was born!).

This column does not normally deal with baseball, but why not? Baseball was one of the most formative experiences of my young life. I wasn’t much of a player but even as a kid I was one hell of a manager. So I appreciate what goes into winning.

Besides, tonight it is impossible to concentrate. The din outside my window is awesome. (Yes, I live in Chicago.)

Well, is there a cosmic dimension to this great Chicago victory? Maybe, maybe not. As for myself, after finishing this column I’m going out to celebrate. This is no night to be a stick in the mud.

But what about President Bush and his mantra “Don’t mess with Texas?” The Chicago boys rolled into Texas, and rolled up the Houston Astros. No, Texans are not invincible. Bush is learning that the hard way.

36. Oz good as it gets (Chicago Sun Times)
Oz good as it gets

October 27, 2005

BY DOUG PADILLA Staff Reporter

HOUSTON -- The White Sox will bring a championship back to 35th Street for the first time in 88 years, and this one will be a worldly affair.

This World Series sweep was not just toasted on the South Side, it was celebrated in Tokyo, Caracas and Havana. There was reason for hugs and handshakes in the Dominican Republic, home to five Sox players. Even the Netherlands can feel good about this one because trainer Herm Schneider was born there and is a veteran of 26 previous seasons, all void of titles.

Venezuela's Freddy Garcia reached down and showed just why he's considered a big-game pitcher as he paced the 1-0 victory Wednesday over the Houston Astros with seven scoreless innings. His outing could've been dedicated to all the great Sox pitchers who never finished a season on top with the club.

Ted Lyons. Billy Pierce. Hoyt Wilhelm. Wilbur Wood. Gary Peters. Jack McDowell. Bobby Thigpen. LaMarr Hoyt. Roberto Hernandez. Jim Kaat.

As far as the Astros are concerned, Sacramento, Calif., native Jermaine Dye, the Series MVP, is one of the toughest outs in baseball. His third hit of the game was a two-out, eighth-inning single up the middle to score Willie Harris. Dye's clutch performance helped the Sox raise the commissioner's trophy in the locker room afterward, something that many of the great hitters in franchise history never did in Chicago.

I am an Astros fan. I think the Astros did a hell of a job to get to the World Series, and have a lot to be proud of.

The White Sox were clearly better in 2005, and they deserve the prize.
Plus they are a classy bunch, and a lot of them are pretty cute too.

But I'm really glad the whole thing is over so we dont have to look at Barbara Butch's withered ugly face anymore. I hate to think that people would associate her with the Astros.

51. The 88 year drought the White Sox ended puts things in perspective.
Let's hear it for the Sox.

And let's hear it for the Astros, who won their first Pennant this year.

As for Barbara & Bush the Smarter--anyone will show the signs of age if they live long enough. But the lines on their faces are not signs of lives well lived. Neither are the children produced by their union.
