Fitzgerald looking into possible perjury in CIA leaks probe

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald is focusing his investigation into the leak of a CIA operative's identity on whether White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove committed perjury, two lawyers involved in the case told CNN.

Fitzgerald is expected to announce Friday the results of his investigation and whether he has come up with indictments, a source said.

The source said Fitzgerald summarized his case before the grand jury Wednesday and met with the U.S. District Court's chief justice afterward for about 45 minutes.

The details of what Fitzgerald and District Court Judge Thomas Hogan discussed were not immediately disclosed.

ALWAYS count on getting a nice pardon from junior if he takes the fall for him. Their friendship runs too deep. I'd be surprised if rove turned on dubya. rove would have no reason to be loyal to cheney, but bush is another matter entirely. It's for bush's sake and advancement to which rove has been singlemindedly devoted since they first fell in love with each other back when daddy sent rove as a messenger to deliver some car keys to his miscreant spawn. bush is the guy who brought rove to the dance, NOT cheney. I'd truly be surprised if rove sold bush out to save his own ass.
