Halliburton to serve more than 170,000 troops Thanksgiving dinner
Edited on Thu Nov-24-05 08:52 AM by Lori Price CLG
Mega barf alert! Halliburton to serve more than 170,000 troops Thanksgiving dinner

While Americans prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving Day with family reunions and large amounts of turkey and dressing, Halliburton is also planning to serve a Thanksgiving feast with all the trimmings to the troops currently deployed in the Middle East and Central Asia.

<snip>

As part of its Logistics Civil Augmentation Program (LOGCAP III) contract, Halliburton subsidiary KBR prepares meals and provides other vital life support services for the troops on a daily basis.

1. They'd be better off eating raw sewage
Some of the reports Byron Dorgan has been bringing to the Senate floor regarding Halliburton/KBR serving contaminated food just make me sick

The guy been trying to get a Truman-like investigation going on the war profiteering for 2 years

7. Actually, I think that's more accurately...
overpaid to do. If Halliburton's hot dogs and mashed potatoes cost us $20 per person, who knows for how much we might be bilked for a Thanksgiving "feast" that's likely to be far less than the troops deserve.

How about giving them each about 1,000 shares of Halliburton stock? After all, they're fighting the war for Halliburton and the oil companies.

KBR's food service staff across the Middle East region have applied their talents to create decorations using custom-made sugar-cube sculptures, ice carvings, intricately carved melons, decorated turkeys, gingerbread-house villages and special lighting to give each dining facility a special touch.

Thanks LPCLG. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

16. Contractor served troops dirty food in dirty kitchens (Dec. 2003)
Contractor served troops dirty food in dirty kitchens

14 December 2003

The Pentagon repeatedly warned contractor Halliburton-KBR that the food it served to US troops in Iraq was "dirty," as were as the kitchens it was served in, NBC News reported on Friday.

Halliburton-Kellogg Brown and Root's promises to improve "have not been followed through," according to a Pentagon report that warned "serious repercussions may result" if the contractor did not clean up.

The Pentagon reported finding "blood all over the floor," "dirty pans," "dirty grills," "dirty salad bars" and "rotting meats ... and vegetables" in four of the military messes the company operates in Iraq, NBC said, citing Pentagon documents. :puke:

The report came as President(sic)George W. Bush fended off Pentagon reports that Halliburton-KBR overcharged US$61 million for gasoline it sold the military in Iraq. Dick Cheney ran Halliburton for five years until becoming vice president (sic).

27. Amazing, isn't it? BTW, Bush's media whores are keeping it...
a secret: While the media covered the 'delicious Thanksgiving feast' (*barf*) for the troops - *Halliburton* was not mentioned.

I wonder how much the US taxpayers were overcharged for this 'feast?'
