Committee to Probe Cunningham's Panel Work (Intelligence Committee)
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051201/ap_on_go_co/congressman_bribery

WASHINGTON - The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee has asked committee attorneys to review former Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham's work on the panel to ensure he didn't improperly influence committee actions or decisions.

Rep. Pete Hoekstra, R-Mich., ordered the review after learning of Cunningham's guilty plea Monday to charges of corruption and tax evasion for taking $2.4 million in bribes, mostly from two defense contractors, in exchange for steering government business their way, said committee spokesman Jamal Ware.

Hoekstra also ordered Cunningham's access to classified information terminated immediately, Ware said Wednesday.

The news of Hoekstra's probe came as House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., released a letter to House Speaker Dennis Hastert requesting creation of a bipartisan committee to investigate Cunningham's handling of classified information.

1. Is this Hoekstra's way of blocking the bipartisan investigative committee?
Why do you oppose the investigation Pete? Will having Democrats in the room with you force you to actually investigate your criminal friends? Do you think that you can just whitewash over this entire event and pretend it doesn't involve a lot more of your Republican colleagues than just Duke Cunningham?

2. campaign contractor/contributors culture of corruption
it seems to be the prototype for the richly corrupted, like for

Abramoff, Savafian, Kowolski & Rowland & Tomasso (CT), "Duke" Cunningham, and maybe for Libby, Rove, DeLay, Frist

and how many contractor/contributors got us into Iraq via the culture of corruption?
