German Film Exposes Guantanamo 'Scandal'
http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/5929DF29-C01F-4BAA-A1A8-E702B3DCCE2B.htm

<snip>An international filmmaker has exposed America's Guantanamo Bay detention camp as a "human rights scandal".

Ashvin Raman has made a groundbreaking documentary for German television which will be screened on Germany's ARD channel on 12 November.

His film includes exclusive footage of Guantanamo Bay, as well as interviews with released detainees and top American officials.

More than 600 foreign nationals have been detained without charge or access to lawyers and family members in the US naval base since November 2001.

1. It appears that Al Jazeera is once again deliberately defying a cover ban

How many times must they be bombed?
How many of their reporters will they need to lose?

Must the regime have its assets in Spain disappear the entire staff to bring them into compliance?

3. I sure hope this film makes it into Mainstream - -
.. From the Article:

"The Americans say the Guantanamo detainees are being treated humanely and receive good food, excellent medical care, and the opportunity to worship. "

/snip/

Look like SMALL dog kennels to me, and this is their LARGE area

. . .

"Neither are they regarded as prisoners of war under the Geneva conventions, because they were not members of the regular Afghan armed forces.

The Pentagon has announced that six Guantanamo prisoners are likely to be tried by military tribunals.

The defendants may face prosecution on a number of charges, including violations of the laws of war.

Depending on the particular charges, the death penalty may come into force."

Hmm - these poor "non-persons" don't have too much hope -

And I hope that film-maker watches their back - -

5. Non-persons, Concerned Canuk said it right.
Always remember this is under the aspices and control of the US of A.
No one else. Patriotic Americans dedicated to human rights and the rules of humanitarian law should be outraged and up in arms about this atrocity. It is against the rule of human law to hold anyone without due process, without charge, right to legal representation, incommunicado and without contact to family. This is the action no less than that of a corrupt dictatorship.

7. Short of outright physical torture, they could not be in a worse place
on the other side of the globe, prosecuted and jailed by people who share no common language or culture, cut off from the real world totally. Who really knows what is going on there, not one group, nation or person that is in position of authority is standing up for these persons or so it would seem.

Hell the way they keep that thing (that DOJ is calling a prison) locked down, you would think that every person in them little cages committed mass genocide of a most heinous nature. So why are not charges being filed on them? (I bet they are probably trying to figure out which ones to make up, still)

4. World Link TV will play it if they can, they have played the Afghan
Massacre documentary about 3-4000 Taliban fighters who surrendered being transported from one prison to another but never made it to the "another" holding facility. Instead ended up in a mass grave. 3 witnesses interviewed in the film have been assassinated. Special forces were in charge at the time.

8. Someone said.......
.....that a few of the detainees were children. But I can not verify this. Some as young as 12. Has anyone else heard this?

10. Age 13-15
Take a look at the results of this search for "Camp Iguana", the special facility for children detainees:

http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&output=search&q=camp+iguana

You will find this shame hardly ever covered by the media in the "land of the free".
