Some (Mississippi) Counties Report Party Interference With Voting
Edited on Tue Nov-04-03 05:23 PM by realpolitik
This in from the Jackson Channel

http://www.thejacksonchannel.com/news/2609859/detail.html

<snip>
Secretary of state spokesman David Blount said several counties -- including Madison, Copiah and Lafayette -- have reported problems with party representatives interfering with poll workers.

<Snip>

Clark said his office also has received complaints about the use of videotaping equipment at polling places, in violation of federal law, and reports of poll watchers going uninvited into voting booths with voters.
</snip>

No mention of which parties are involved in which counties...

I am sure we will hear more of this.

6. Video taping
Is there anything illegal about video taping people going and coming from the polls? It's proballity just considered open to the public to stand ont the sidewalk in front of the building. I just don't know how a political party could challenge it if nothing techically illegal is going on.

3. By the time anyone does anything about it the polls are closed
Then we have to have an investigation which gathers facts and then the plaintifs settle for next to nothing and the damage is done.

4. Can't charges be filed instead of settling for $ our of court?
The NAACP should have never taken $$$ in Florida but insisted upon prosecution.

9. Well hell
This just totally sucks! I guess it worked for them in Florida so why not go nation wide! If they can't scare people with a war and terror threats I guess they will scare them in the voting booth. They are evil!

hell it didn't stop a voter intimidator from becoming a Supreme Court Chief Justice...

This is the legacy of silence - where the rest of the dem party let the Congressional Black Caucus and NAACP stand alone in protesting voter disenfranchisement in Florida.
