IRAQ: INTERIOR MINISTER'S SISTER SNATCHED

Baghdad, 3 Jan. (AKI) - Gunmen have kidnapped the sister of Iraqi interior minister Bayan Jabr, the Xinhua newsagency reported on Tuesday. Miinistry sources said that the woman whose name was not mentioned in the report was abducted in Baghdad's al-Qadisiyah district, near the fortified 'green zone' by gunmen who drove away in two cars.

This is the second time a relative of Jabr's has been kidnapped in recent months. His brother was held and then released by militants of the Army of the Mehdi a group linked to hardline Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr.
