White House cold to Chalabi leading Iraq oil ministry
WASHINGTON (AFP) - The White House reacted coldly to the naming of disgraced former US ally Ahmed Chalabi to lead the Iraqi Oil Ministry.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan evaded reporters' questions about the US feelings towards Chalabi's appointment to lead the ministry on December 30, after minister Ibrahim Bahr al-Ulum was relieved of his duties when he opposed a sharp oil price increase.

The increase has provoked widespread protests in Iraq.

"It is not up to the United States, it is up to the Iraqi people to make those decisions and it's up to their government that is elected by the Iraqi people to make those decisions," said White House spokesman Scott McClellan.

1. Maybe Bush (read Cheney) is affraid that the Iranian opertive
will divert oil to Iran that Iran will then sell itself (or at least divert some of the revenues to Iran and to his bank account).

12. I have never seen such a schizophrenic administration...
About 3 years ago, Adhmed Cha-Loser was the administration's Darling. He supplied the White House with JUST the right facts, to set us on the path to war.

RumsFailed loved Cha-Liar. They quoted him constantly, used him as their back-up man with "the undisputable facts". He was also Cheney's favorite. Never mind the fact that Cha-Lobby is Iranian, and is a convicted bank embezzler, sentenced in absentia in Jordan.

Then, the romance grew cold. Chaliar was out. They confiscated his computer, did some other things. He vanished. Good, I thought.

Next, the cockroach re-surfaces!!! About 1 month ago, he's suddenly welcomed in Washington again. He meets with Conda-Liar. They order no photos are to be taken. He's about to become the minister of oil, or the prime minister?

Now, the White House is "cold" again. Can they ever make up their mind?

become just so slightly anxious that Triple Agent (Iraq/Iran/U.S.) Chalabi isn't fully in their pocket.

The sick fucks aren't geniuses, after all, and they're probably totally lost at the Double Agent level.

So they periodically recall him to Washington for debriefing, which the Hero in Error handles effortlessly.

Note that this view doesn't exclude the obviously theatrical "fall-outs" between them and Chalabi.

18. That's quite possible
The personal meetings in Washington also ensure that nothing has to be committed to paper or electronic communication - thus, deniability.

17. Chalabi has them by the nuts and is squeezing hard. He knows ALL
the secrets, like who did 9-11, and he has a big ticket price. Love hurts!
