Poll: Half believe Congress is dirty (CNN/USA Today/Gallup)
http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/01/03/poll.congressimage/index.html

About half of U.S. adults believe most members of Congress are corrupt, a poll released Tuesday suggests.

According to a CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll, 49 percent of respondents said most members of Congress are corrupt. Although 46 percent of respondents said most aren't, the margin of sampling error -- plus or minus 4.5 percent -- makes it clear that the perception of congressional politicians is largely negative.

Congress' image could emerge as an election topic, with 55 percent of respondents saying corruption will be "the most important" or a "very important" issue to consider when voting in November, when all 435 House seats, and 33 Senate seats, will be decided. (View poll results)

Thirty-two percent of people surveyed said corruption was moderately important, and 12 percent called it not important.

1. "and 12 percent called it not important"
How disturbing is that?!

These are obviously the 12 percent that either benefit from corruption or are just too stupid to realize that it affects them.

5. What I worry about is the attitude that "they all do it"
equally blaming Democrats and Republicans. Though this attitude will help Democrats take on repuke incumbents, I worry that some good incumbent Democrats may be swept out of office "because all Congress is corrupt".

8. Actually if you look at all the Democrats who have sold out to corporate
masters, precisely as illustrated by all the Democratic votes for welfare reform, NAFTA, CAFTA, the re-imposition of indentured servitude disguised as "bankruptcy reform" etc. -- all these savagely anti-poor and anti-working class measures dating clear back to the Clinton Administration -- the incidence of corruption is obscenely high: ALL Republicans (owned by the oligarchy, definitive fascist and therefore definitively corrupt) and at least half the Democrats including all Democratic Leadership Council Fifth Columnists (for the same reasons).

I am gradually assembling a list of these class-traitor Democrats and will post it when it is completed.

9. Most people don't know the party affiliations
of those in Congress. I'm also betting that most don't know that Congress is run by the repubs. So, they lump every politician in with those who are in Congress now, whether corrupt or not.
