Democrats say Bush taking wrong approach

WASHINGTON Senate Democrats are warning that President Bush's intransigence is making it tougher to reach an agreement on renewing the Patriot Act.

Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold says "the White House is in attack mode." He warns that if the administration continues "to show no flexibility at all, then the stalemate will continue."

In a letter to the president, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid urged the president to work with Democrats to try to strike a deal.

How about "Democrats say Bush is a power hungry egomaniac who will stop at nothing to destroy democracy". I like that better. :D

Good statement though, just the same.

3. Only until November.
If the Dems can take control of Congress and the Senate, the Republicans will roll. If the Repubs can hold on to control, or even increase their margin, perhaps by smearing the Dems with the 'soft on national security' meme, or personal attacks, or cheating, even, then the Dems will roll.

But once the American people have spoken, the politicians will take note of it. For a few weeks.
