Democratic senator Barack Obama likened aid to Iraq to pouring water into a bucket full of holes.

"The analogy I would use is that it is going to be hard to convince American taxpayers to pour water into a leaky bucket," he said.

A fully-fledged army and police force representing the country's ethnic mix of majority Shiites, minority Sunni Arabs and Kurds would send a clear signal to US taxpayers that their cash is being put to good use, the visiting Congressmen said.

1. American taxpayers do not have any say so in
the matter. Shrubbie does what he darn well pleases. We should deed Iraq over to China right now, because it is their money we have borrowed to fund the war.

7. Repubs only apply that sort of logic to mothers, AMTRAK, not Iraq
Cut off welfare after two years, stop AMTRAK subsidies, even put tolls on roads, but for gods' Sake, keep the money flowing to Iraqiburton regardless of results!
