Bush Has No Doubts About CheneyWhite House Spokesman Endorses VP After Early Morning Health Scare
Vice President Dick Cheney speaks at the Heritage Foundation on Jan. 4, 2006, in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, Jan. 9, 2006 — Despite an early morning health scare, President Bush has no doubts about whether Vice President Dick Cheney can continue to serve.

...

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said the president was not awakened when Cheney went to the hospital around 3 a.m. The president learned about the vice president's health troubles while heading to the Oval Office before a morning breakfast.

When asked whether Bush doubts the vice president can serve another three years, McClellan responded, sharply "Nope."

He went on to describe Cheney as "an important member of the team."

4. So Scottie's a doctor now?
Well, he and Frist should go into practice together. After they get out of prison, of course. Frist can make diagnoses by videotape, and McClellan can offer his prognoses based on little more than whether someone's "an important member of the team." Just think how fast Carson Palmer would have come back yesterday after rupturing his ACL with Dr. Scottie on the job!

5. Expecting this
Been expecting some sort of health scare for Cheney. Been expecting it for some time now. Expect now that he will need to resign due to health issues. Let's remember he's got 'Scooter' in the sights of Fitzgerald, who is seeking info about Cheney (and anyone else he can get the goods on) It's been more than speculation for months now, that Cheney might be in the crosshairs of the CIA leak on Plame. Not only that, but there are several roads leading to Cheney. He needs to get 'out' asap! Things are getting hot!.. and I'm loving it!

Question is... who would replace him?

Whatever happens, beyond a catastropic situation, this is all being planned better than a 'wedding'..all orchestrated along someone's 'schedule'.

8. Well, Lynne and "5 Deferments" bought that MD mansion in a hurry
--spent $2.7 mil on it, and furnished it with a few high speed runs to POTTERY BARN! (Colin must have been amused....) Now the neighbors are pissed, because the helos come and go at all hours and excite the country dogs into barking in the dead of night...and the motorcades make traffic intolerable!

It looks like an orchestrated series of news stories to me, too. Unless pissed-off BAR poisoned the guy!

18. I do NOT want him out. I hope he makes it until '08
1) he's an anchor on the whole party, dragging them all down by being an asshole
2) if he resigns now, he gets replaced with some other asshole who will then run for prez in '08 as an incumbent.

Since he's made it clear he has no interest in running for prez in '08, I've been predicting for some time that he will have some "health problems" that force him to resign so that they can find a likely '08 candidate to replace him with.

Also, when he leaves office, I want him to leave in disgrace (and handcuffs), and not on his own terms.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

That I believe!

"President Bush has no doubts about whether Vice President Dick Cheney can continue to serve."

Gee, he has as firm a grasp on the VP's health (4 heart attacks, couple of stents, pacemaker, etc.) as he does on the "war." :eyes:

30. I can take a guess why he's never awakened for these things.
His temper is well-known. I'd rather NOT be the one who has to wake him if it was necessary. He probably TELLS people NOT to wake him for anything (unless, of course, he was in danger :eyes).

First it was Ahnold, now it's Unca Dick.

The first question that comes to mind is why panic now?

Possible answers:

Indictments: DeLay, Abramoff, Cunningham, Nye, etc., etc.

Boy George himself (totally round the bend)

38. Hmm. This might turn into a "Weekend at Bernie's" situation.
Junior so hates to be wrong, and this naturally would extend to his choice of VP. If Cheney were to die, they'd probably just keep propping him up for public appearances.
