Franken not decided on Senate run

Associated Press

MINNEAPOLIS - Al Franken has moved his radio show from New York City to his home state of Minnesota, but he still isn't ready to announce a U.S. Senate run for 2008.

The comedian and host of "The Al Franken Show" on Air America radio, began broadcasting his show from Minneapolis last week. He says he made the move because, "I just always consider myself a Minnesotan."

While Franken acknowledges the new locale might not bring as many guests into the studio, he won't address whether it's a step toward an eventual Senate candidacy. Franken recently told The Associated Press that he hasn't made a decision yet.

"I think I'll be deciding early to middle 2007," he said.

1. Don't Do It Al. You Can't Debate The Way Debates Actually Are Here
Edited on Tue Jan-10-06 11:40 PM by cryingshame
in the REAL world.

Franken "debates" republicans on his show and think he "wins" by making his points laboriously. What he doesn't realise is that in the 5 minutes it takes for him to make his point, the republican has already repeated their talking points at least a half dozen times and that's what most Americans hear.

I wonder if it has to do with his being a comedian. So much of comedy is building up to the pay-off. Political debates just don't work that way.

3. He is doing it EXACTLY RIGHT
Get comfortably positioned--then the 'retread/not-quite a carpetbagger, but ya left and came home' tag cannot stick.

Wait until the last friken possible minute--if someone better comes along, back out and support them.

If no one does, get in there and kick the living shit out of the opposition.

If he wants it, he can do it. He can even adjust his comedy. The guy is no fool. He actually PAID ATTENTION at Harvard....

4. i find it hard to believe he hasn't made the decision long ago
isn't that why he moved his show out of new york?

isn't that why he couldn't breath a word of election fraud? (because he thinks that when he runs the machines will magically work for him)

isn't that why he never says what randi and mike and sam aren't afraid to say?
