Kuwaitis license U.S. refining catalyst

Kuwait Catalyst Co. has licensed U.S. technology for a key refining and petrochemical catalyst.

A unit of W. R. Grace & Co. and Chevron Products Co., operating under a joint venture known as Advanced Refining Technologies, cut the licensing deal with KCC for use of its residuum hydroprocessing catalyst.

The value of the licensing deal was not disclosed.

That catalyst helps refiners more efficiently remove contaminants from gasoline and diesel fuel, key sources of export revenue for refining companies.
