Can't figure The repubs liking Blunt in view of the possibility he may have to step down after he is indicted. Would be pretty embarrassing to have two Majority leaders in a row have to bow out.....Not sure but I think I like it. No, I'm sure, I do like it!
Splat!

Republican Conference Chairwoman Deborah Pryce (R-Ohio) announced Wednesday that the elections for a new majority leader would be held on Thursday, Feb. 2, two days after President Bush is scheduled to deliver his State of the Union address.
The announcement came three hours after the conference office sent members an email asking if they had any objections to returning to Washington a few days early in order to hold the elections on either Jan. 26 or 27.
The Republican Study Committee (RSC) sent out an email immediately afterward reminding members that the earlier elections would occur before RSC members could meet to interview the candidates at their annual retreat, according to aides who had seen the email. The Conservative Member Retreat is scheduled for Jan. 30 and 31 in Baltimore.
“Following up on the member’s conference call on Monday night, the Conference is canvassing all members to check availability to be in Washington
to conduct an election for Majority Leader,” the conference email read.
