Federal judge blocks abortion ban

In a ruling that could affect abortions nationwide, a federal judge on Thursday blocked enforcement of the government's new ban on certain late-term abortions _ the second court victory for abortion-rights advocates since President Bush signed the law.

2. Thought it was kind of amusing that Dub, in his ceremony yesterday...

Had exactly NO women--not even 1 female Repub Senator or Congressperson--up on stage with him in his suck-up to the religious right. He looked all the more the fool for this glaring omission--and like someone representing 48% of the population (when he was REALLY reflecting the views of only about 30%). :eyes:

Here's hoping the part of the population up on stage with him (conservative Repub white males) is about the per centage of vote he actually pulls a year from now!:D

And here's hoping EVEN MORE of the repressive bills "his" Congress sends him will be subsequently, justifiably struck down by the courts. The judiciary gaveth to Dub; they can just as easily taketh away from him!:eyes:

From the (short) article:

The ruling, while it applies only to the plaintiffs, may have broad application. The federation says that its members perform half of the abortions done nationwide.

But still obviously a very significant ruling. More to come, I hope!
