Europeans Say Iran Talks Reach 'Dead End'

BERLIN - The British, French and German foreign ministers said Thursday that negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program had reached a "dead end" and the Islamic republic should be referred to the U.N. Security Council.

The ministers did not specify what action should be taken by the Security Council, which could impose sanctions. They called for a special session of the International Atomic Energy Agency to decide the referral.

The action came two days after Iran broke U.N. seals at a uranium enrichment plant and said it was resuming nuclear research after a two-year freeze.

Enriched uranium can be used as a fuel for both nuclear energy and nuclear weapons. Iran says its nuclear program is only for fuel.

5. Russia and China should veto this promptly.
There should be no "debate" over sovereign Iran's right to conduct nuclear research. The rules must be the same and the transparancy the same for large and small powers. Someone must stand up for the developing countries and others who will not bend to the global empire.

6. Russia and China won't
Russia has already stated that they will not intervene and the only thing China really cares about is if they get their energy supplies or not.

7. The US goal is to get a 'serious consequences' statement.
They'll tell the SC this means 'sanctions' to get them to sign, and then later they'll say this means 'bomb them to smithereens' if they don't comply.
