WHITE HOUSE First lady Laura Bush expects that soon the person playing her role in the White House won't be a woman. She's predicting that the U-S will likely elect its first woman president "in the next few terms."

Bush tells C-N-N "it will happen for sure." In fact, the first lady says she'd "love to see" Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice pursue the job.

Mrs. Bush is heading to Africa tomorrow night, where she'll attend the inauguration of Liberia's first-ever woman president. She's also visiting Ghana and Nigeria to promote education and AIDS treatment.

This will have some nastiness in general, however, these are not my opinions, but the general opinion of those who would likely be voting. So please don't flame me--these are not my opinion!

Condi: She is a minority woman, regardless of her stature as SOS. Many people still have prejudices against blacks, and she would not be likely to take away votes from a white male.

Hillary: To many on the left, she is too moderate, and she reminds many of her ties to the DLC. Besides, many idiot sheeple will automatically reject the wife of the president who played naughty in the white house.

Boxer: While Boxer has made many strides as a California Senator, she carries some historical baggage which will likely be a deciding factor at some point. For those of you without knowledge of her past in California, she was at one point a chief culprit in spending money on her congressional credit card that was not allowed.

Feinstein: Forget it. She's too moderate, too unavailable a lot of the time, and is unlikely to get a lot of votes outside of CA.

Pelosi: Needs to expose herself more to the rest of the country, whether in congressional presence or national focus. People outside of her congressional district barely know her, unless you travel in the circles that people here at DU might travel.


We all know what happened with Carol Moseley Braun in the last primary, and it will happen again with nearly any woman running for the presidency. Perhaps if some politician campaigned like McGovern did and takes on a woman as vice president, it would be more acceptable, and the transition to president from VP would be an acceptable one. However to have any woman run for the highest office, would not succeed until the knuckle dragging pukes nationwide gave up their right to vote.

While there are many countries worldwide who can accept a woman in the highest office, the US is still too filled with people who are intolerant, chauvinistic and non progressive. We claim to be on top of the world, but it's difficult to assess that when it comes to women and their role in society.

I would like to add, not only wouldn't Condi get as much of the WM Repub vote as they think she would, but they also overestimate how much of the black vote she would take from the Democratic side (VERY LITTLE)!!
