Foe sees DeLay as being beatable
But backers of Sugar Land Republican say he is stronger than poll shows

U.S. Rep Tom DeLay's main opponent says a Houston Chronicle poll confirms his belief that the congressman is vulnerable after a year of investigations into his ethical conduct.

Meanwhile, DeLay's camp claims the Sugar Land Republican's support in the 22nd Congressional District is stronger than shown in the poll, which was taken Jan 10-12 of 560 registered voters.

If renominated, as the poll indicates he will be, DeLay would face former U.S. Rep. Nick Lampson, who is unopposed in the Democratic primary and polls highest among the probable November candidates.

The poll found that if the general election were held today, Lampson would get 30 percent of the vote, DeLay 22 percent and Stockman 11 percent. The ballot also will include a Libertarian Party nominee.

6. They called him "foe" in the title?
How about "Challenger" or "Democrat" or "Lampson" or anything else with a more postive connotation? Yeah, I know the letter count is important, but good grief.

They are still clinging to some vestige of primal allegiance to the ooze known as Tom DwarfLay. Poor them. Nah Fuck em.
