Domino’s Pizza Inc. Chairman and CEO David Brandon will chair the gubernatorial campaign of west Michigan businessman Dick DeVos.

Brandon, a former finance chairman of the Michigan Republican Party, will head Republican DeVos’ effort to beat Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm in the November election.

DeVos is the former president of Ada-based Alticor Inc., which is Amway Corp.’s parent company.

Greg McNeilly, DeVos’ campaign manager, said Brandon, a well-known businessman and community leader, will among other things help elevate DeVos’ profile in Southeast Michigan and throughout the state.

1. pay attention to this
anyone interested in helping MI get back on it's feet needs to pay attention right now. Should Granholm lose (which I feel confident she won't) it will be a huge $$$ giveaway to companies in MI, and the ppl will get little to nothing in return.

6. I've boycotted Domino's for years.
He's trying to build a fundie city in SW Florida, so that he will control the cable network, the business district (No porn, drugstores that sell condoms or birth control, etc.)

Build a big fence around it and lock them in.

7. Have been for years - Dominos gives big to anti-choice hardliners
Dominos gives lots of money to the whackos at Operation Rescue, the fanatic anti-abortion group.

Dominos also killed and injured a number of delivery drivers with their "30 minutes or less" policy some years ago. They were forced to stop that campaign because of the accidents.

8. not to mention their "pizza" tastes like dog food
i put quotes around the word pizza when referring to food served by domino's because no self respecting italian-american would be caught dead ordering from domino's.

pizza hut blows too.

15. I don't think I have had Dominos for more than fifteen years
when I moved to Michigan and learned about dear ole Monighan. Of course the fact that the pizza is awful made avoiding it pretty easy.

5. Just what Michigan needs - Amway
I will admit that I am anything but a dispassionate observer when it comes to anything Amway related, so you may take my opinion with as much salt as your diet, physician or taste allow, but I hope Granholm beats DeVos so badly that he never takes up politics again.

9. Dominoes has not passed through my lips since....
the late 70's because of his politics (I had maybe one pizza prior to this). I was asked by a national survey once about Domino's pizza. The guy was stunned at my reasons for not purchasing Dominoes. He asked if I recieved a coupon for one would I use it. I told him that if he personally delivered it to my house for free-I'd shut the door in his face. I'd starve first.

11. well, good
being able to sell pizza doesn't equal being able to run a political campaign, and I'm betting that he's the type who'll want to get involved rather than leaving it to a manager. Odds are, he'll insist they put all the money in TV advertising and ignore the ground game.

The Granholm campaign should be very vigilient, however. Since he doesn't know what he's doing, he'll want the campaign manager to do things that are illegal, like put flyers in all the pizza boxes without counting it as a donation.

12. Take it from those who live in this state-if DeVos wins-look for cheatin'
I don't think he has a snowballs chance in hell. He'll cater to west michigan, suck up to the UP and get bounced out of Detroit. Anyone with any knowledge knows that DeVos is Daddy's little rich boy who hasn't done anything in his life to justify this position.

Looking ot rape the state of its water--that's what this is all about.
