Two UN soldiers killed in Haiti

Two Jordanian peacekeepers serving with the United Nations in Haiti have been
shot dead in a volatile district of the capital, Port-au-Prince.

A third UN soldier, also from Jordan, was injured in the attack on a checkpoint
in the Cite Soleil district.

The deaths come a day after protesters demanded the UN take action against crime
before upcoming elections.

Peacekeepers were sent to Haiti after President Jean Bertrand Aristide was ousted
in 2004.

1. I really hate it when UN are killed
It sends a signal "we don't give a flying f* what you people think of us", at least to me.

4. This is Wrong!
Port-au-Prince has been just bombarded with violence as of late. And kidnappings still are happening across the nation for ransom. They are even kidnapping the children of the poorest of the poor, and gouging the children's eyes out if their parents can't pay. You're right, we did get them into this mess through a century of failed policies that have stripped the land of its resources and the people of their livelihoods. And it is our nation's responsibility to get them out of it. But unfortunately, people just aren't informed over here. The government sends the refugees (including children) away faster than they can come while the population watches breathlessly as Brad and Angelina's baby gestates. I just can't stand this.
