Schwarzenegger hiring investigator of sex charges
SAN FRANCISCO -- Gov.-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger will name a private investigator to look into accusations of sexual misconduct made against him during the final days of the California recall campaign, an aide said Thursday.

The move is intended to fulfill a campaign promise, made by Schwarzenegger last month, that he would address the accusations after the election. During the campaign, he admitted to some past sexual misbehavior and issued a general apology but declined to address specifics.

1. I think the state should counter with a REAL investigation
since the ONLY true purpose Arnold can have for investigating himself is to INTIMIDATE those that made the allegations. What a CROCK OF SHIT!

2. This makes me so mad I could SPIT!
Your're right on. There could be no other purpose but to intimidate the women who have accused him of sexual battery.

10. something that has received little media attention is this lie you are
spreading. here's just one article talking about the smear campaign against this completely innocent victim, Rhonda Miller.

Headline Hollywood
Arnold’s True Lie
by Nikki Finke

On the eve of the California recall election, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s gubernatorial campaign was responsible for using Los Angeles and national media to perpetrate a dirty trick against a Hollywood stuntwoman after she accused him of groping her. Spurred by a provocative e-mail sent by Schwarzenegger campaign spokesman Sean Walsh, some local and national television and radio personalities broadcast false information that the woman, Rhonda Miller, had a six-page rap sheet of felony arrests and convictions when the truth was she has never been in trouble with the law. The misinformation that she had a criminal record on file in L.A. Superior Court would not be corrected until after the election.

What is most astonishing about the smear by the Schwarzenegger campaign is not just how little publicity it’s received, but that neither the governor-elect nor his representatives have yet to apologize to Miller. And Walsh by all appearances was not fired or disciplined for his action.

<snip>
Miller tells L.A. Weekly she is uncertain what legal action, if any, she plans to pursue because she is still “too upset and shell-shocked. Because I don’t know how to unfix this. It’s just the most horrifying thing to hear that you’re a prostitute and a felon and have all these grand larcenies. I didn’t even know what grand larceny was before this. Then suddenly, it’s everywhere.” She recalls feeling horrified: “‘Oh, my God, what are my family and my friends going to think? Am I going to work again in Hollywood?’ All of that was going on. It was like somebody had cracked a bottle on my head.”

17. So you think Arnold was lying when he said he did it?
Or was he lying when he said he didn't do it? It's so hard to remember whether the last thing any given Republican said was the lie or the truth. They like to cover both ends, so when someone accuses them of lying, they can point out that the did lie, but also told the truth at another time.

Arnold said there was no truth to the allegations, then laughingly told a crowd that he did grope a lot of women in his youth (three years prior to his campaign was still his youth apparently) and he was sorry, then he began to claim that the Democrats were setting him up, and then he started claiming that the allegations weren't true, again. Republicans believe every cockamamy testimony from proven convicted perjurers that Clinton groped or raped them, but disbelieve sworn testimony and videotape and even confessions from their own candidates.

Must be nice to be a Republican. You get a "Get Out of Hell Free" card, and spend the rest of your life lying, assualting, robbing and raping the world.

15. I thought the CA State Attorney General had launched an investigation,
already into these allegations? Thought this was Gropinator's retaliation, which is typical of the Repug mentality.
 Didn't anyone hear that an investigation had been launched? I don't have a link, heard it on NPR.
