Bush expresses confidence Saddam will be tried

WASHINGTON, Jan 18 (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush expressed confidence on Wednesday that Saddam Hussein will be put on trial this year and said Saddam deserves to get his "due justice under rule of law."

The trial of Saddam on crimes against humanity charges is due to resume on Jan. 24 after a month-long recess, but the U.S.-sponsored court has been thrown into doubt with the resignation of Judge Rizgar Amin on Friday and the killings of two defense lawyers.

Anxious to show skeptical Americans that progress is being made in Iraq, Bush met at the White House with more than 10 Iraqis he described as "folks who know firsthand the brutality of Saddam Hussein."

"One of the interesting moments will come here this year when Saddam Hussein's trial is brought forth for the world to see, to see the butcherer, the person who brutalized many people or ordered the brutality of many people here at this table, get his due justice under rule of law," Bush said.

2. The rule of law? The rule of law?
The American people need to impeach Bush under the rule of law. It just might teach him what the rule of law means.

5. What about this sentence???
"One of the interesting moments will come here this year when Saddam Hussein's trial is brought forth for the world to see, to see the butcherer, the person who brutalized many people or ordered the brutality of many people here at this table, get his due justice under rule of law," Bush said.

WTF??? Does not this muddlement say something, like he knows that he is the "butcherer", the person who ordered the brutality of many people here at this table, and that HE should get his due...

Weeeeiiirrd...he's cracking up, I think.

8. I wish that Junior would get his due justice under the rule of law as well
Edited on Wed Jan-18-06 02:58 PM by ...of J.Temperance
Of course knowing Junior's luck, that'll only happen when he's dead and has to face his Day of Judgement.

Everything Junior has ever said about what Saddam Hussein did, can also be applied to Junior himself.

On Edit: Dammit spelling error.
