Pakistan Tells U.S. Not to Repeat Attack
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Filed at 10:41 a.m. ET

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AP) -- Pakistan's foreign minister told a senior U.S. diplomat on Saturday that the two countries must work together to avoid a repeat of U.S. attacks like last week's strike on a Pakistani border village that killed civilians.

Foreign Minister Khursheed Kasuri made the remarks to visiting U.S. Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns at a meeting in Islamabad, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said.

''While reaffirming Pakistan's commitment to counterterrorism, the foreign minister underlined the need for the two countries to work in a manner that precludes recent incidents like Bajur,'' the ministry said in a statement.

1. Is there any difference between "terrorism" and "counterterrorism?"

President makes his own laws and under the I am the Commander in Chief framework.

3. I think this was a one-off by Bushco.
They wouldn't normally upset Bush's buddy Musharraf but I think they're getting desperate so went for it this time to try and good some good PR in the WOT.

It didn't work so well, so they had to pull the bin Laden video out of their box of tricks.

4. Wind blowing east again, is it?
First, Pakistan was outraged. Then they said everything was all right, a bunch of terrorists had been killed in the strike. Unfortunately, no proof of that assertion has been proffered and the corrupt Bush administration has been steadfast in not agreeing with their good friends the Pakistanis. Now Pakistan has been relegated to saying in essence that the attack on their soil by the United States was okey-dokey, but they'd really prefer the U.S. not do it again.

I hope Foreign Minister Kasuri at least got a kiss for being fucked in the ass like that.

11. In times of war, the innocent die too.
Maybe we could appease them by offshoring some more jobs. That'll fix it.

13. This isn't gonna help Musharaff
The Pakistani people are not going to look too kindly on this development. Musharaff is in a tenuous position between supporting the US and keeping his people from overthrowing him. If the latter happens, then nuclear weapons could suddenly fall into the hands of fundamentalists. Not in five years, not in two years, but overnight. It would change everything.

14. The comment was made to Imperial Proconsul Nicholas Burns.
That's the same guy who a day or two ago was talking about "teaching Iran a lesson." Careful, Mr. Proconsul. You have a lot of irons in the fire.
