Iraqi police find bullet-riddled bodies of 23 men

22/01/2006 - 16:37:18

Police found the bullet-riddled bodies of 23 men today who had been kidnapped north of Baghdad during the week after being rejected entry into a police training academy.

The bodies were found partially buried by dirt in the village of Nibaei, near Dujail, about 50 miles miles north of Baghdad, said Interior Ministry police Lt. Thair Mahmoud.

The men were among 35 returning on a bus from Baghdad to their homes in Samarra, 60 miles north of the Iraqi capital, on January 18 after failing to be accepted into a police recruit centre, said Capt. Laith Mohammed of Samarra police.

Militants stopped the bus at a makeshift checkpoint near Nibaei and abducted the men, who were found with application letters to the academy, police said.

Mohammed said the 23 bodies were each had bullet wounds to their heads and other parts of their bodies.

Insurgents have targeted Iraqi security forces in a bloody campaign of killings and kidnappings aimed at frightening locals from aiding the US-led reconstruction of this war-ravaged country.

1. 2 questions - what happened to the other 12 people? why kill applicants
.
.
.

that were REFUSED?

gee -

one might think that applicants that were refused might have more of an affinity for Iraq than the USSA

so they were no threat to Iraq

but they would have been to the USA WarMachine

Just My Canuk thots . . .

Many abducted Iraqis found dead

Attacks have not stemmed the flow of police volunteers
Iraqi security officials have discovered the bodies of 23 police volunteers kidnapped last Monday.
The men were found shot dead on open land north of the capital Baghdad, the officials said.

The victims were part of a group of 35 men seized by insurgents as they travelled home to the northern city of Samarra by bus last Monday evening.

Militants stopped the bus at a checkpoint. The men had received an armed escort on their way down to the capital, but not on their return

7. So, they protected them to go to the job interview
But if they didn't make the cut, they weren't protected anymore.

Kidnapped Iraqi police volunteers massacred

2 hours, 28 minutes ago

Iraqi authorities recovered the bodies of 23 police volunteers, murdered after their abduction a week ago when they were travelling home following a rejection by a recruitment centre.

The discovery, which underlined the vulnerability of would-be police officers to attack, came as political parties started appealing results from last month's general election amid continued complaints of fraud.

The bodies of the men, part of a group of 35 police volunteers who went missing Monday evening, were found on open land near Nibaie, a few miles north of the capital. Their hands were bound and they had been shot, a security official said.

The men had gone from Samarra, 125 kilometres (80 miles) north of the capital, to Baghdad to join the police force, but had been turned down and were heading back home........

10. What kind of karma is going down here? I killed those men because I
didn't fight hard enough against war mongering imperialism. I didn't think these war mongering greed-saturated unlimited-crime imperialists would steal another election when I could have known more and done more.

And how many Iraqis are they saying have died because of their agenda and the actions of the fraidy cat Democrats who voted for this?

Massacre upon massacre - they all add up don't they?

Are they going to do it to us?

They are calling for police forces in the U.S. The military is doing the spying of the FBI.

Welcome to the lullaby version of the Homeland.
