Source : Ralston leaving her White House job

CHICAGO, IL --- PINOY Monthly has learned from a reliable source in Chicago that Susan B. Ralston has left her White House job and is now working at the Department of Commerce.

Before her departure, Ralston, 38, was the highest ranking
Filipino American in the Bush White House, working as Special Assistant to President George W. Bush in addition to her functions as Assistant to Karl Rove, the president’s Senior Adviser and Deputy Chief of Staff.

...

Earlier, Ralston denied reports of her departure from the White
House.

“I am focused on my job serving the President in my current
capacity,” Ralston was quoted by the Philippine News.

...

Asked if she may be called to testify again by Special Prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald regarding further investigation of CIA leakage and outing of agent Valerie Plame, and possible White House cover-up, Ralston said she could not comment as the case is still under investigation.*

2. Probably ....
... a result of the cleansing effort going on at the whitehouse to eliminate traces of Abramoff. The average Joe will never know she existed.....at least that is what they are counting on. She was a direct gateway for Abramoff and ROve to get their clients in to see Bush.

everyboddy and when it happened, that's her job. Get her to tell ALL she knows and you can roll them all up.

7. Philippine News has made Ralston a bit of a poster child...
...which is sad, because every culture deserves achievers and role models. They've done many stories on her. Unfortunately, Ms. Ralston made some poor career choices. Was there ever a point where she realized what kind of corruption she was immersed in? She knows, we never will, and it's a sad end to an unfortunate story. On the other hand, she's an adult. She can read, she can watch a news broacast. Number one rule of survival is when you smell smoke, get out of the damned building. It took her a while but she smelled it.

14. "I've never met Susan and I don't know Susan" Bush
Just thought I would beat them to their "I don't know so and so defense."

Of course little Susie was Rove's right hand and Bush's left.

13. I don't think Ralston/Rove and Leandro Aragoncillo are at all connected
Aragoncillo had left leanings and did something stupid while Ralston/Abramoff/Rove/Norquist et al are squarely uber-right. The best I can make of Aragoncillo is that he did not exactly steal US national double super secret background stuff, but rather, he lifted classified dossiers that contained notes and sensitive 'dirt' on the current administration and passed it on to the opposition party. Cheney et al will be highly embarrassed if the notes ever become public because Bush* and Arroyo are such great friends. Oops.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/05/AR2005100502199.html

In another universe with a different administration, Aragoncillo might have acted with its blessings and been considered a hero.

21. Probably but I don't believe in coincidences...
and why would Ralston have to be moved... its so obvious...they don't want the Rove/Ralston Cheney/Aragoncillo paralells...... Aragoncillo a traitor Ralston fudges the log books covering for Rove's exposing CIA agent... She aided and abbetted a traitor = Ralston a traitor better to have her at a distance incase she is more than just a secretary...

Nonsense spinning of course but sometimes nonsense makes sense...OOO

22. In this case, it ends with only a coincidence
Aragoncillo and Ralston are political enemies. End of story.

Ralston is an agent for Norquist, albeit loyal to Cheney. She was moved to take the heat off the story.

Aragoncillo a traitor? In my perfect world, the history books will say he was a hero for trying to help oppressed Filipino countrymen. Ethics and legality come into play but the fact he was not charged for treason says something. He screwed up trying to do something good but will pay the price for his indiscretions.

15. Try to "distance" herself from Indictment, prison, etc....
Proves there IS something big-time illegal going on in WH...or that Turd Blossom is about to be flushed down the Fitz Grand Jury.

Poor woman, just trying to earn a living...as far from "the action" as possible.

16. Well, I'm sure it has nothing to do with this

That's Susan on the left, Ralph Reed in the middle, and our old friend Jack Abramoff in the scruffy beard, before he adopted the Boris Badenov look.

Nope. No scandal here. Nothing to see at all. Move along, please.

Ralston's too visible a keystone. Josh Marshall had a pic of her on TPM last week or two with JA and Ralphie Reed.

20. Does anyone know what kind of work Ralston did for the preznit?
As Special Assistant to President George W. Bush in addition to her functions as Assistant to Karl Rove... I read somewhere that she was involved as a special assistant in "personnel," but what does it mean? Is it just a title? Are there lots of them? What is it that she's not doing anymore?
