Senators urge vigilance after new bin Laden tape surfaces

WASHINGTON Two top senators say Americans need to pay close attention to Osama bin Laden's latest warning.

The audio recording that surfaced last week was the first public statement by the al-Qaida leader in more than year. Bin Laden warned of an upcoming attack on the United States, but the tape carried no specific threat.

Government officials have said they expect the American people to live their lives as normally as possible, but Senator Pat Roberts is urging vigilance. He tells C-B-S Americans need to take the warning seriously. Democrat Joseph Lieberman says al-Qaida will remain a danger to the U-S for many years to come.
