26. Not only Suing ..
but Suing themselves. They are going to self-destruct.

If releasing salaries would cause an "uproar", then there is probably something wrong with them (i.e. unfair).

Cheers
Drifter

3. Is this against the LAW?
I can see the company getting upset - but turning leakers names over to authorities? There has probably been more time and effort to find these leakers already than for the Plame leaker(s).

4. Revealing proprietary information
Can get you sued and easily fired. (You should be, actually.) But what law are they breaking?

7. Can't be illegal or haynutty would be in trouble.
Haynutty released an internal document (he received stolen property or violated interstate laws in transporting stolen property) and he did not get fired. O'liar will sue when he sees' everyone makes more than him.

21. Not sure if it is illegal
But Fox does have the right to fire them. Most employment is "at will"--that is, if a company wants to let you, they can do it "at any time" for "whatever reason". Meaning--that if they didn't like the way you looked, or if they simply didn't like you--they can fire people whenever they want. The only exceptions are race, sex, and sexual orientation; but even then, given some of the rulings from the Rehnquist court, proving these claims is all but impossible.

29. "The only exceptions are race, sex, and sexual orientation..."
Actually, only 12 states have laws barring discrimination based on sexual orientation. In most places, you CAN be fired simply for being gay.

34. Are these celebrity employees or the grunts?
If they are the celebrity employees then they will have contracts and can't be fired unless a clause includes that as a reason.

The state where the employee conducts their employment will determine whether they are at-will employees. If it is New York I would guess that it is not at-will.

In addition, I seem to recall that there was a leak of salaries possibly in California and the court ruled against the company.

10. Well, who is going to leak it to the rest of us?
How do you like leaks now, FOX? Certainly there is nothing to damage the national security in knowing the salaries of the FOX News staff. But then, they don't want to remind the dittohead audience that they are really part of the wealthy elite in this country and that they really have very little in common with the dittoheads whose minds they have brainwashed. I mean, afterall, how would it go over to keep reminding that audience that Rush was a durg addict earning over 16 million annually? Day after day, night after night, that message would soon have a dire affect on the ditto heads.

19. Hey, I love that typo!
Can I use it? It sounds much better to say "durg addict" than drug addict. I'm serious. Sorta a cross between dirty and drug. It's great.

14. whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa????
There are laws on the books against knowing everybody's salaries??? Hey, that's news to me!

Salary information wouldn't be considered proprietary intellectual property (it does not benefit Fox monetarily the same as PIP covers a company's scientific findings, for example), and even if it were, it would subject you to perhaps firing or civil penalties, not criminal.

whaaaaaaaaaa? Fox New is just trying to play its stupid games. Treat them the same as they do any liberal who dares to step out of line: threaten, intimidate, subject them to penalties.

Pretty soon they'll be blathering about how anti-American it is to know salary information.

feh! I pick my teeth at Fox News. Bullies.

But you better not give out how much some loon at FOX makes, because it could be harmful to our national security.
